2015- Niagara Falls - Canadian side

I was able to go to Niagara Falls this summer.  Only this time I was able to get on the Canadian side.  I went last year and did this post on it. http://rockhoundingaround.blogspot.com/2014/07/niagara-falls-new-york.html   It is definitely different and I can see why some people like this side better.  USA side or Canadian side its still impressive and I loved seeing it.  Now to let the images speak for themselves.

This is what I read in Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niagara_Falls

The main thing was to find out that the caprock, is more resistant and is the Lockport dolostone   of Silurian age. This dolostone is what is so resistant and makes the falls as spectacular at they are.

This is the Horsefalls
One of the things that made it so special was seeing the rainbows in the water.  As you would walk they would change in height based on the angle that you were viewing them.

It was so much fun to see the maiden of the mist boats go into the falls and then see how quickly they get turned around and pushed back out of there.
The Canadian side for the American falls

We stopped and had dinner and came out again and the rainbows had risen higher.  I thought this was really neat because I could see a 2nd degree rainbow.  It didn't take really well in the picture but if you look hard you can see it.  The 2nd degree one has the colors reversed from the 1degree.

As we were walking back to the car the rainbow kept getting higher and higher and it was so neat to see it rising above the falls.

We at our dinner at the Skylon and I got so many really neat pictures that I just have to have a second post on them.
