Incredible Cruise: Day 6 - Moorea

The one thing my spouse wanted to do was the wave runners.  We tried to do it earlier but they were all booked up.  Today was our lucky day to do them.

We had to take a tender to the shore to get them.  When we woke up our window was looking out to the ocean and so we didn't really have a clue as to how the island looked like.  It was in the tender that we actually got to see what the island looked like.

The is the area where the tender docked and was the main hub of activity.  There really wasn't much there, but the scenery was incredible and made it worth the effort to get there.

Views like this made it so worthwhile to see.   The colors were undescribable and so fun to see because they were constantly changing.

This was some famous hotel.  One of the excursions was for you to spend the night there but we didn't choose that but the ones who did really enjoyed it.  In fact some ended up staying there and not returning to Tahiti with the cruise ship.

I didn't take any pictures while we were on the jets skis.  At one point we did stop at a motu that was basically uninhabited and took a break there.  It was good just to get off of them and stretch your legs for awhile.  I didn't realize how tightly I had been holding on.  I am appreciative to have done it and will check it off the bucket list but I really don't see myself wanting to do it again unless we go at a lot slower pace so I could really see the coral reefs and such.  The others were all into seeing how fast they could go and jumping the waves - not my idea of fun, but definitely theirs and the guides.  .

The Paul Gauguin Cruise Ship

I really liked the cruise ship.  They only take about 350 passengers and there are about 200 crew members. It was big but not too big.  The best thing about it was you could get around it easily.  You could do a lot of things that you would do on other crew ships but not to the extent  the other ones do.   So it had things like spas, gift shops, theaters, libraries, game rooms and casino and very fine dinning but it didn't have much for kids like a rock climbing wall or putt putt.

During the day the ship moved around some and we were able to get better views of the island from our stateroom.

There was nothing like sipping a beer and viewing things like this.

I must admit, I'm not into jet ski's.  I'm glad I can say I did it, but doubt seriously if I will do something like that again.  I've been on jet ski's before and like going at a much slower, gentler pace than what the others liked to do.
