I took a trip awhile back to Jackson Mississippi. My husband had a continuing ed class to take and that was the reason we went there. While I was there I got to play tourist. This post is one of the places I got to visit while I was there - The Mynelle Gardens here's a link to it
Mynelle Gardens.
Here was one of the main structures that was on the property. It looked like it was a meeting/reception area. They were working on it and I wasn't able to get much closer than this to really see what it was. It is a lovely looking place.

Going to the garden I expected to see pretty flowers and I was not disappointed by that.
The day lilies were just starting to bloom while the violets and roses were in full bloom.
I enjoyed walking around and come upon this water feature which was the main focal point of the gardens.

Of course with the water feature I saw frogs and turtles and even some tadpoles.
Well at least I think they are tadpoles.
I even saw birds and I tried getting their pictures too but they would fly off and I didn't get a good one.
I really did like seeing all the natural features. They even had a piece of petrified wood which I thought was nice since it is the state rock.

I liked seeing all the art sculptures there too. Imagine my surprise when I saw this other rock hound- you don't see them very often. Rock hounds do like to get together .
Here's some other sculptures that made it so interesting to walk around and see. You never knew when you'd see one.

'Circle of Peace' by Gary Price; Mynelle Gardens |
There were some other statues but my images did not do them justice so I'm not including them. You'll just have go there to see them for yourself.
The one thing I kept on thinking about was how peaceful and lovely the place was. Its a great place to come and meditate. They did have places were you could go to and relax and just take in the the beauty of the place.

I've been saving the best for the last. What I really liked about the place was they were having a special exhibit which was called "The Flowers and Trees of the Bible". They actually had plants of the bible growing and scripture quotes to go along with them.

The sign said crocus but I don't think those were in bloom and it was somthing else I was seeing.
I think this was a fig tree but I'm not sure and the sign didn't turn out. If you look closely above the right hand side you can see a piece of fruit on it.

Onion, Cucumber, Melon, Leek, Garlic. |
It had all those listed but it look like it was garlic that was growing there.
There was more to see there than what I have shown. Its a great place for a nice peaceful stroll and I'm glad I got to see it.
